The Santa Clara County Dental Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting improved oral health for Santa Clara County residents by providing resources and funding for programs operated by volunteer dentists from the Santa Clara County Dental Society to provide care to underserved areas of the community
The SCCDF wanted media coverage around their signature annual event, Silicon Valley Healthy Smiles, to raise awareness about the importance of oral healthcare and target populations that often face barriers in accessing that care.
Silicon Valley Healthy Smiles is a 100-chair, two-day FREE dental clinic where dental professionals work alongside community volunteers to provide dental care to more than 1,500 underserved members of the community. Cleanings, fillings, extractions, dentures and assistance in finding a long-term dentist were provided free of charge to everyone, regardless of their residence or insurance status.
Strategies & Tactics
PRxDigital developed and distributed a media kit and press release to a curated media list aimed at reaching specific populations.
We also conducted extensive media follow-up prior to the event, helped coordinate media coverage during the event, and provided the client with post-event media monitoring and assessment.
Results
PRxDigital received over 26.8 million in audience views, worth $708.8k in estimated publicity value and 232 mentions.
On the day of the event, the Santa Clara County Dental Foundation provided over $1.4M in charitable dental services, including more than 582 teeth extracted, 100 individual denture services, and 6,345 dental procedures. All were provided free of charge by 700 volunteers, including 350 health professionals.
