Childrens Health Initiative

Children’s Health Initiative

Santa Clara County was the first county in the nation to pledge to provide healthcare coverage for the County’s estimated 71,000 children without health insurance.. This was made possible by the groundbreaking comprehensive healthcare package and aggressive outreach program known as the Children’s Health Initiative (CHI).
PRxDigital helped to build and activate a coalition of community groups, including Working Partnerships USA, People Acting in Community Together (PACT), the County of Santa Clara Health and Hospital System, The Health Trust, and the Santa Clara Family Health Plan.

Woodside, California-based Clos de la Tech Winery has a clear, ambitious and provocative goal: to make the New World’s best Pinot Noir wine. Owned by T.J. Rodgers, founder, president, and former CEO of longtime PRxDigital client Cypress Semiconductor and his wife Valeta, the winery has several vineyards and three “caves” near La Honda, Santa Cruz, California, used for pressing, bottling, and distribution.Supporting Clos de la Tech’s visibility in pursuit of its goal, PRxDigital provided a full suite of communications and marketing services consisting of video production, social media marketing, graphic design, PR, and blogging.

County Of Santa Clara Health System Healthcare Access Program (HAP)

Early in 2020 during the height of COVID, the Board of Supervisors approved the Healthcare Access Program (HAP). With more people losing income and jobs, and at a time when they may need critical healthcare services, HAP became another option for financial assistance. The new program reduces the amount patients owe for services and/or medicines based on their income. PRxDigital was tasked with marketing the HAP program in order to reach target audiences and increase enrollment.

The grand opening of this huge project was not just an unveiling of a massive structure, but also about laying the foundation for future urban development patterns and mobility in the region. Furthermore, with the unveiling of the Harriet Tubman Statue, there was also an exciting opportunity to integrate historical significance with the modern infrastructure, making the place not just a transit hub but also a cultural landmark.

The founders, Jason Gouw, Marvin Gouw, Tim Mowerer, and Sean Thurston, realized that if they felt intimidated by some of the projects they want to approach, many other Makers of all ages must face knowledge-based barriers to their dreams. Furthermore, aspiring Makers who are just kids trying to pursue STEM education must have an even greater learning curve.

Route 85

In planning stages since the 1950s, Route 85 was the first highway to be built in Silicon Valley in 30 years, stitching together San Jose, Los Gatos, Saratoga, Campbell, Cupertino, Sunnyvale and Mountain View. The seven-year construction process that completed the freeway was significantly disruptive to surrounding communities — residents were relocated, neighborhoods were bisected, and a 30-mile swath of the county was affected daily by the dust, noise, and displacement associated with construction.

The Santa Clara County Dental Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting improved oral health for Santa Clara County residents by providing resources and funding for programs operated by volunteer dentists from the Santa Clara County Dental Society to provide care to underserved areas of the community. The SCCDF wanted media coverage around their signature annual event, Silicon Valley Healthy Smiles, to raise awareness about the importance of oral healthcare and target populations that often face barriers in accessing that care.

Sprouts Chef Training

Sprouts Chef Training stands out in a crowded nonprofit sector in the Bay Area, where over 28,000 organizations vie for attention. As an organization dedicated to preventing homelessness among underserved youth, Sprouts Chef Training equips them with culinary skills and experience, helping secure employment or further educational opportunities. Despite their impactful work, they struggled with gaining sufficient visibility and awareness of their mission. To address this, Sprouts Chef Training turned to PRxDigital for expert media relations support.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many St. Francis Center (SFC) clients – who work in the service industry – had been laid off or furloughed and were unable to pay rent. SFC Director Sister Christina Heltsley had been waging a battle since March 2020 to raise emergency funds to cover the shortfall. Finally, Heltsley reached out to PRxDigital to help publicize the shortfall and how it was impacting the Center’s programs and clients. The Core Companies

Our client, The Core Companies, was one of five developers being considered for a six-acre parcel earmarked by the City of Santa Clara for development. The Core Companies had designed an innovative concept that combined senior and affordable housing with an “agrihood” concept. This provided a 1.6-acre farm lot where residents can grow their own produce – a first-of-its-kind development concept. This proposal was a stark departure from typical development concepts, and had no track record or supporters ready to support the concept.

Valley Health Foundation (formerly VMC Foundation)

PRx, as it was then known, was engaged by the County of Santa Clara to support its health services mission to residents of the County through Valley Medical Center (VMC), the area’s public hospital. The hospital, like most public health care institutions in the 1980s, was seriously underfunded, and PRx’s founder and CEO saw the need for a non-profit foundation that could provide not only funds for medical service expansion, but budget for effective marketing of VMC’s excellent medical care. This was one of the first nonprofits in the US that served a public hospital.
